PHASA-35 (efe2abe8-d0de-514b-ac3e-092b5d9188d7)
The PHASA‑35 is a British‑made high‑altitude, long‑endurance (HALE) unmanned aerial system developed by BAE Systems in partnership with Prismatic. Powered by solar‑electric panels and high‑energy‑density lithium‑ion batteries, the aircraft can remain aloft for months, operating above 65 000 ft (≈20 km) where weather and air‑traffic interference are minimal. With a 35 m wingspan, a take‑off weight of about 150 kg and a payload capacity of 15 kg, it is suited for ISR, environmental monitoring, border surveillance and communications relay (including 4G/5G). Its electric motor provides a cruise speed of 96‑144 km/h, while recent battery‑pack upgrades extend night‑time endurance, making PHASA‑35 a low‑cost, persistent alternative to satellite‑based sensors. Currently fielded by Ukraine.
