Tu-141 strizh (e90bee1e-0e27-4712-90d9-86093b0dafee)
The Tupolev Tu‑141 Strizh is a Soviet‑designed, turbojet‑propelled unmanned aerial vehicle originally fielded in the late‑1970s as a high‑speed, medium‑range reconnaissance platform. With a one‑hour endurance, a top speed of ≈ 1 760 km/h and a 1 000 km operational radius, it can carry diverse payloads such as film cameras, infrared and radar imagers, and, when fitted with external munitions, function as a loitering strike weapon. After a long period of inactivity, the type was re‑activated by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in 2014, where it has been employed both for intelligence‑surveillance‑reconnaissance (ISR) missions and, since the 2022 Russian invasion, as a long‑range loitering munition against Russian targets. The drone remains in the inventories of Russia and Ukraine.
