Gerbera (c1e5a1c6-6253-5ccb-be6e-0dec4399656d)
The Gerbera is a low‑cost, electric‑powered loitering‑munition UAV fielded by Russia. Built by JSC Alabuga Skywalker Technology and XLSEMI, the 3.5 m‑span platform can cruise at up to 160 km/h and carry a 3‑5 kg warhead, giving it true strike capability. Deployed extensively in the Ukraine conflict, Gerbera‑type “kamikaze” drones have penetrated Ukrainian air‑defence belts and are reported to threaten NATO’s eastern flank, with a notable crash 50 km inside Poland prompting diplomatic denial. Their modest speed, small radar cross‑section and expendable nature make them an attractive option for massed, low‑altitude saturation attacks against fixed‑wing and ground targets.
