The HESA Karrar is a jet‑powered, single‑engine UAV produced by Iran Aircraft Manufacturing Company (HESA) since 2010. Developed from the U.S. MQM‑107 target drone, it features a low‑wing, delta‑shaped airframe, a Tolloue 5 or Microturbo TRI‑60‑5 turbojet, and a rocket‑assist launch system, achieving up to 900 km/h and a 1,000 km range. While primarily employed by the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Defense Force as a high‑speed target for SAM and interceptor training, the Karrar is fitted with three hardpoints capable of carrying a 227 kg payload, including Mk‑82 bombs, Nasr‑1 or Kowsar anti‑ship missiles, and a Mark 46 torpedo. Iran has fielded the type domestically and exported limited numbers to Hezbollah, suggesting a secondary role as a low‑cost, short‑range strike or loitering munition platform.
