Spectator (a5b73ec0-a229-4117-b960-1a6636cfdd55)
The Spectator‑M1 is Ukraine’s first indigenously‑developed, small‑class ISR UAV, fielded by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence and Border Guard Service. Built by Polytech Aero and produced by VAT S.P. Korolev Meridian, the electric, high‑wing monoplane carries up to 1.5 kg of payload—including a 10× optical‑zoom daylight camera and a thermal imager—over a 3 km × 3 km mission area with a 35 km live‑video link. Its 2‑hour endurance, 120 km/h top speed and 3 m wingspan enable rapid tactical reconnaissance and border‑surveillance missions. Launch is catapult‑assisted (hand‑launch under development) and recovery uses either parachute‑assisted or conventional landing. The system incorporates INS‑GPS navigation, anti‑jamming ECM alerts, encrypted communications and a dual‑drone launch package, allowing up to five missions per day in contested environments.
