Colibri (a011dc4e-f260-5440-975c-81ad33225106)
The Colibri is a weapon‑capable, rotary‑wing unmanned system developed by MBDA in partnership with Novadem for the French Army. Built around the “Sphynx” concept, it is a tele‑operated munition that keeps a man‑in‑the‑loop while providing beyond‑line‑of‑sight strike capability. The system integrates MBDA’s Akeron MP missile family and is designed for rapid deployment by infantry in urban, extra‑urban and forest environments, offering high manoeuvrability and precision. Selected through the French AID/DGA tender in 2023, the consortium pursued a Minimum Viable Product approach, with first flight demonstrations scheduled for the end of 2023. Colibri therefore adds a compact, loiter‑and‑strike capability to France’s ground‑force toolbox.
