Haasta (6f591a97-f42b-59f9-929a-979ab83940d2)

The Haasta (HAASTA) is a Polish‑developed, hybrid‑electric UAV created by the Military Institute of Armament Technology (WITU) in partnership with the Łukasiewicz Institute of Aviation and Italy’s EuroTech. With a 3.9 m wingspan, 34.9 kg payload capacity and up to ten hours of endurance, it can be air‑launched, then land on a skid or parachute. Its primary mission is “drone‑on‑drone” combat: using a forward‑looking sensor suite that detects combustion‑engine emissions, the platform intercepts low‑speed Shahed‑type drones and destroys them with an under‑belly 5.45 mm machine gun (future upgrades may include larger calibers or small bombs). Secondary roles include ISR, long‑range reconnaissance, swarm operations and penetration of contested airspace, with operational radii of 30 km (radio), 80 km (mesh) and up to 170 km line‑of‑sight. Poland is the current operator.
