The TAI Anka is Turkey’s indigenous medium‑altitude, long‑endurance (MALE) unmanned combat aerial vehicle, produced by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI). Powered by a 170 hp rotary‑engine, it can stay aloft for up to 30 hours, cruise at 200 km/h and carry a 350 kg payload on two hardpoints, enabling precision‑guided munitions such as MAM‑L, Cirit missiles, L‑UMTAS ATGMs and the TAI Şimşek cruise‑missile. Its modular design supports synthetic‑aperture radar, electro‑optical/infrared sensors, SIGINT/ELINT suites and satellite‑communication links for beyond‑line‑of‑sight operation. Deployed by the Turkish Air Force, Navy, Gendarmerie and intelligence services, Anka has seen combat in Syria, Iraq and Libya and is exported to Algeria, Chad, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Tunisia, Uzbekistan and Turkey’s own forces.
