Bober (4d6a6949-b987-5609-b242-6581071135a5)

The U J‑26 “Bober” is a Ukrainian‑developed long‑range loitering munition (suicide drone) commissioned by the Main Directorate of Intelligence (HUR). First flown in 2023, the Bober can travel 600–1,000 km and carries a KZ‑6 shaped‑charge warhead, enabling it to strike high‑value targets deep inside Russian territory. It gained prominence after the May 2023 attacks on suburban Moscow and subsequent strikes on the IQ‑quarter high‑rise district, the Kremlin area, and the Kapustin Yar missile‑testing complex in July 2024. The platform features a rear‑mounted pusher propeller and a nose‑mounted sensor suite, and its operations have demonstrated both the reach and the psychological impact of Ukraine’s emerging strategic UAV capability.
