CR500 (Golden Eagle) (3482f386-63eb-5537-ac58-a71768793511)

The CR500 “Golden Eagle” is a multi‑role, rotary‑wing UAV developed by NORINCO’s Institute of Computer Application Technology. Featuring vertical take‑off and landing (VTOL) and semi‑autonomous operation from truck‑mounted ground‑control stations, it can remain aloft for up to eight hours while carrying a maximum payload of 160 kg. Its chin‑mounted, gimbal‑stabilised EO/IR turret and hard‑point‑mounted electronic‑warfare or communications‑relay kits enable intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) missions, while its weapon‑integration capability allows strike or close‑air‑support roles. Designed for joint operation with tanks, infantry fighting vehicles and self‑propelled artillery, the CR500 also supports humanitarian‑assistance and disaster‑relief tasks. Export records show sales to the United Arab Emirates (ten units in 2019) and a pending $45 million procurement by Senegal’s National Gendarmerie.
