Ababil 2 (أبابيل) (32f1999d-252d-58b6-a79f-8f2b6b378339)
The HESA Ababil‑2 is a low‑cost, single‑engine tactical UAV produced by Iran Aircraft Manufacturing Company (HESA). Powered by a 19 kW (25 hp) WAE‑342 twin‑cylinder piston engine, it can cruise at 250–305 km/h, reach 370 km/h, and stay aloft for 1.25–2 hours with a 40 kg payload capacity. Designed for flexibility, the platform serves as a target drone (Ababil‑B) for air‑defence training, a modest‑capability ISR vehicle (Abibil‑S), and a short‑range loitering‑munition (twin‑tail “Ababil‑T”/Qasef‑1). Iran fields the type in large numbers and has exported it to proxy forces—including Hezbollah, the Houthis, and the Libyan National Army—where it has been employed in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Gaza for surveillance, strike and anti‑radar missions.
