The Puma LE (Long‑Endurance) is AeroVironment’s ultra‑light Group 2 UAV that delivers Group 1‑size logistics while providing extended ISR capability. Weighing only 22.5 lb (≈10 kg) and hand‑ or bungee‑launched, it can stay aloft for up to 5.5 hours, cruise at 46–76 km/h (25 knots cruise, 41 knots dash) and operate up to 60 km from its control station when paired with AeroVironment’s Long‑Range Tracking Antenna. Its integrated Mantis i45 gimbal supplies dual 15 MP EO cameras, a 50× optical zoom, IR and low‑light sensors, plus an NVG‑visible laser illuminator. A secondary payload bay (≈3.4 lb/1.5 kg) with dedicated power and Ethernet permits additional mission kits such as electronic‑warfare, RF geolocation, communications‑relay or other sensors. With a 2.5 kg (5.5 lb) total payload capacity and a skid‑landing recovery, the Puma LE serves the U.S. Army and other U.S. forces as a compact, long‑endurance platform for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, target acquisition and network‑extension tasks in both land and maritime environments.
