Qasef-2K (2c8f619c-bb96-5086-a794-580a4ab923cb)
The Qasef‑2K is an Iranian‑made loitering‑munition UAV derived from the HESA Ababil‑2 airframe. Built by the Iran Aircraft Manufacturing Industrial Company (HESA) and powered by a 19 kW WAE‑342 twin‑cylinder piston engine, the drone carries up to 40 kg of warhead payload, can fly for roughly two hours, and reaches a top speed of 370 km/h. Operated exclusively by Yemen’s Houthi forces, the Qasef‑2K is employed to strike high‑value air‑defence assets—most notably Patriot radar components—and to deliver air‑burst shrapnel attacks against soft targets. Its low‑cost, simple design and short‑range strike capability make it a key tactical weapon in the Yemeni theatre.
