The ASA 1204 AAROK is a French‑built, medium‑altitude long‑endurance (MALE) UAV powered by a 1 200 hp turboprop engine. With a 22‑metre wingspan, a 5.5‑ton MTOW and a 3 000 kg payload capacity, it can loiter for 24 hours (up to 30 hours in ISR‑only mode) at 450 km/h and 30 000 ft. Its modular payload suite combines high‑resolution EO/IR cameras, a multimode SAR/GMTI radar and SIGINT/IMSI‑catcher sensors, plus LOS/BLOS datalinks that enable battlefield‑airborne communications. The platform is weaponised for standoff attacks—carrying up to four 250 kg or two 500 kg precision‑guided bombs, or up to sixteen air‑to‑ground missiles with a 35 km range—while retaining self‑defence suites. Designed for automatic take‑off and landing from rough terrain, the AAROK serves as a persistent ISR node, a strike and close‑air‑support asset, and a maritime surveillance/anti‑submarine platform. It is in service with France and, via a Franco‑Indian partnership, will be produced locally for the Indian Armed Forces.
