FH-97A (12600fba-78cf-52ed-96ed-8944649a4466)
The FH‑97A is a high‑speed (Mach 2.5) loyal‑wingman unmanned combat aerial vehicle developed by Aerospace Times Feihong Technology Corporation for the People’s Liberation Army Air Force. With a 12 m wingspan and stealthy airframe, the UAV is designed to fly in tight formation with manned fighters, extending their situational‑awareness and survivability. Its sensor suite—top‑mounted electro‑optical/infrared and side‑looking apertures—enables early‑warning reconnaissance and target identification, while built‑in electronic‑reconnaissance/jamming pods allow air‑defence suppression. The FH‑97A also carries an internal weapons bay and a ventral launcher for short‑range missiles, giving it limited air‑to‑air and air‑to‑ground strike capability. Operated solely by China, the platform embodies the ISR‑and‑combat “loyal wingman” concept.
