Sunflower 200 (0aba67ea-1058-5b49-8559-79ffd50ef7bd)
The Sunflower 200 is a Chinese‑produced, twin‑engine piston loitering‑munition (OWA) UAV that functions as a one‑way “suicide” strike platform. With a 2.5 m wingspan, 3.2 m fuselage, 175 kg launch weight and a 40 kg warhead, it can take off vertically—eliminating the need for a solid‑fuel booster—and cruise at 160‑220 km/h for up to 10 h (12 h endurance claimed). Its declared range of 1 500‑2 000 km lets it engage targets deep behind lines. First displayed at Russia’s Armiya‑2023 expo, the Sunflower 200 has already seen combat, notably in the May 2025 RSF strike on Sudan’s Osman Digna air base, with the United Arab Emirates alleged to have mediated its transfer. The system offers China a high‑payload, long‑range loitering‑missile capability for export to proxy forces and allied militaries.
