BusyBox is an open-source software suite that provides several Unix utilities in a single executable file that was initially released in November 1999. It combines tiny versions of many common UNIX utilities into a single small executable and provides a fairly complete environment for small or embedded system. The author's had dubbed it as "The Swiss Army Knife of Embedded Linux" and as single executable replaces basic functions of more than 400 common commands.Threat actors might misuse and try to upload this on Internet of Things (IOT) devices to facilitate further compromise.[Busybox.net September 27 2024]
